Physiotherapy and Cystic Fibrosis Research
With Labfront, Jennifer Edelschick was able to utilize Garmin wearables in her cystic fibrosis study so her team could capture objective physiological data and see how exercise was impacting subjects’ sleep, mood, pulmonary function, and more.
Labfront helped pull all the data together and the additional analytics package generated usable reports for her research.

Bringing Objective Data to Epidemiological Studies
The Stanford WELL For Life Wearable Pilot Study set out to measure sleep, stress, and depression. They chose Labfront to get granular sensor data, such as interbeat interval (IBI), that they could customize to their own needs.
Our analysts saved them a tremendous amount of time by deriving heart rate variability (HRV) from the IBI data that would have been nearly impossible for analysts without HRV expertise.
The analysts at Labfront are very conscientious and hardworking, and I am appreciative of their contribution.
Frontline Healthcare Worker Resiliency During The Pandemic
Researchers at Clemson examined the wellbeing of frontline health care workers at the height of the pandemic. They wanted to see how the long hours (including shift work and overtime) were affecting their overall health.
They collected both self-reported data as well as objective biomarker data through the use of wearables, painting a richer and more complete picture of their participants’ experiences.

Therapy + Biomarker Monitoring to Reduce Depression Risk
ThoughtFull and Labfront scientists launched a 3-month research study combining mental health therapy with digital biomarker monitoring to examine its effectiveness in reducing depression.
Significant clinical improvements were seen in the emotional state of the participants, offering preliminary support for incorporating physiological data such as physical activity, sleep, and heart rate in mental health interventions.
